From its lofty perch atop Corcovado Mountain, Christ the
Redeemer is one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks,
its outstretched arms a symbol of welcome and peace that has
come to de昀椀ne Rio de Janeiro. Standing at 30 meters tall, this Art
Deco masterpiece is iconic from afar but utterly staggering up
close. To reach the summit, adventurous travelers can hike the
two-hour trail from Parque Henrique Lage, while those who prefer
